The government established methods of calculation and information requirements in connection with the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions from fuel and energy in transport; amending the royal decree 1597/2011, of 4 november, regulating the criteria of sustainability of biofuels and biolíquidos, the national system of Verification of sustainability and double value of some biofuels for purposes of counting; and provides an indicative target of sale or consumption of biofuels.

The Royal Decree 537/2020, of 22 May, which extends the state of alarm declared by the Royal Decree 463/2020, 14 March, declaring a state of alarm for managing the situation of health crisis caused by the COVID-19, states in article 9 the resumption, with effect from 1 June 2020, the computation of administrative deadlines that had been suspended during the rule of alarm and their extensions. In this regard, the deadline for the transfer of information regarding the intensity of emissions of greenhouse gases of fuel and energy supplied in the transport set at the Royal Decree 235/2018, 27 April, ending the day 18 August 2020, included.
